Aircraft noise

Complaints should be made to the Heathrow noise complaints line. Environmental health has a monitoring line to collect data about resident's concerns. Advice on aircraft noise is given by the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions (DETR).

Burglar alarms

A 20 minute cut-out device is required on all intruder alarms. The Police must be notified of all keyholders and alarms must be registered with pollution control. Pollution control also deals with complaints about alarms.

It is illegal to fly-tip or dump rubbish on the public highway. Offenders can receive fixed penalty notices or be prosecuted. Fly-tipping should be reported to customer services.

Complaints of intrusive noise from both residential and commercial premises are investigated by pollution control. A party patrol operates on Friday and Saturday nights from 11.00pm to 4.00am to respond to complaints.

The pest control service advises and provides chargeable services to deal with rats, mice, wasps, fleas and bedbugs. This service does not include foxes, pigeons or squirrels, but advice can be provided upon request.
